Meeting the ELL Team

Our ELL team of Mrs. Trujillo and Mrs. Bacon serve all of the students in the ELL program in this school as well as two other schools. 

Mrs. Trujillo has taught a variety of grades and subjects from kindergarten to college in her teacher education classes and as a computer teacher.  She speaks English and is learning Spanish.   She lives in Manhattan with her husband and two children.  She has lived in Colorado and Kansas and has visited a few other states and only one other country.  She is at Spring Valley and Grandview from Monday to Thursday and at Milford on Friday. 

Mrs. Bacon has worked as an ELL aide for the past three years with the district.  Before that she was a nursing aide and an EMT.  She speaks German and English.  She lives in Abilene with her husband and three children.  She has lived in Germany, Georgia, Tennessee, California, and many other places.  Abilene was her 18th move!  She is at Spring Valley and Milford almost every day of the week.

Home Visits

We would like to get to know the families of our students in the ELL program better.  In order to do that, we would like to visit with you at your home.  This is an informal way for us to get to know each other.  We will inform you of how your student is doing with the skills we work on as well as listen to your concerns and questions.  Please call or email us and let us know when a good time would be to come see you and your family.
